  • Chart templates provide set ups to use along with your strategy.
  • With OmniTrader/VisualTrader closed save the file below (by clicking on it) and saving them in the Nirvana directory on your C Drive as follows.

save all templates in directory        C:\program files\nirvana\OT 20XX\chart templates

                                                                                            
System Templates
OmniTrader/VisualTrader comes with several standard chart tempates which you should not change, always make a copy and then modify as required

Trending   [file name = trending.otd]     

Standard    [file name = standard.otd]
Swing         [file name = swing.otd]         
Reversal     [file name = reversal.otd]

The following are modified templates - if you would like to use them - download these - they can be modified further as required
 
Use this if you have purchased Turtle

Example of How to create a template
What to do with the templates
  • Now open up OmniTrader and select the chart template from the drop down box - the example below is for Guppy-Darvas - you may not have all the templates shown on this example.
  • You need to select a template for each focus list and you should use the template to match your strategy - these can be switched at any time
 
  • You also need to ensure that you set up the voting (analysis)  by going "edit,  data periods" to vote the strategy - unless you are trading 5 and 15 minutes these do not need to be selected. Bars should be a minimum of 500

 
  • Also make sure you "activate the strategies" to match the profile you want to see, go Edit, Trading Strategies - in this example we want Guppy-Darvas - it is often best to limit the number of strategies in any focus list so you understand what you are testing for. Other common strategies you may select are Trending (stocks), Breakout (stocks)   Click here to learn more about which strategies to select
